Presenter: Dan Donahoo
What does play-based learning look like when you put tablets and technology in our early learning environments? Daniel Donahoo has spent the last decade using technology to offer children quality play-based learning experiences. In this webinar he shares his practice stories and approaches, aligned to research and the early years learning framework, to help you to see the many ways technology can augment, enhance and enrich children’s play and learning. By the end of the session you will have concrete ideas about how you can use that tablet, projector or phone in your work to engage purposefully with the individual learning needs of children in your service.
Dan Donahoo works at the intersection of play, technology and learning. He is founder of digital play and learning company ‘Deeper Richer’ and the Director of ‘Project Synthesis’, an ideas consultancy that specialises in digital tools and creating change from inspiration. Dan has been working with young children, technology and early learning environments for almost 20 years. Dan hosted Technology Speed Dating at ECA’s national conference in September 2014 and was part of our Livewires events last year. Dan believes educators have a unique role to play in choosing and using technology that extends children’s learning beyond the screen and runs hand-on workshops showing how.You can see Dan speaking about early childhood education and technology at ECA’s Digital Business Kit Video page.
