Meet your Presenters
My background is that I graduated in 1988 with a Diploma of Nursing from Southland Polytechnic.I travelled overseas a little bit working in Samoa and Saudi Arabia. My nursing background prior to oncology was predominantly in ICU and Recovery. Since having children I have worked part-time in Oncology Outpatients. I have been with the Cancer and Blood Service for the last eleven years. Beginning in day stay for 5 years and then as a research nurse specialising in melanoma trials for 3 years and then as Melanoma/Head and Neck CNS for the last 3 years. And as of now are CNS for Melanoma only. I always have had an interest and passion regarding Melanoma. Currently working towards my Masters degree.
I am a medical oncologist at Auckland City Hospital,
where I work in the melanoma and gynaecological cancer teams. I am a board
member of Melanoma New Zealand and am active in clinical and translational
trials for advanced melanoma.
